The Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center, located at 2050 Tilden Avenue, New Hartford, is offering a free eight-week Arthritis Aqua Therapy class for individuals in the community who have arthritis or an arthritis related condition. Funds raised through the annual Jazzmatazz wine-tasting event supports this program at Sitrin.
Jazzmatazz is a fundraiser that was created to provide local services, support, research, and educational programs for local children and adults with arthritis and arthritis related conditions. The annual fundraiser, held in March, includes an evening of world-renowned wines, gourmet food stations, live jazz music, and a unique silent action.
The free aquatic arthritis class provides a slow range of motion designed to improve movement, relieve pain, and increase strength. This warm-water aquatic class is instructed by therapy staff specially trained in the treatment of arthritis.
Patients interested in taking advantage of this free class must first obtain a prescription from their doctor indicating that they have arthritis or an arthritis related condition. Don’t delay; register today, as space is limited! The next session begins October 28 and runs through December 18.
