Sitrin’s 7th Annual Celebrity Classic Wheelchair Basketball Game
Features SU Basketball’s Kristof Ongenaet and Mike Hopkins!

It’s almost time for tip-off! The 7th Annual Sitrin Celebrity Classic Wheelchair Basketball Game will feature Kristof Ongenaet and Assistant Coach Mike Hopkins of the Syracuse University Men’s Basketball Team! The game will be held on Thursday, April 30, at 6:30 p.m. in the New Hartford Senior High School gymnasium, and pits local celebrities against athletes from the Sitrin STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) program.

In addition to playing wheelchair basketball against the STARS, Ongenaet and Hopkins will be available to sign autographs and take pictures with fans. Other participating celebrities include World Champion Luger, Erin Hamlin; Ultimate Fighting Championship contender, Matt “The Hammer” Hamill; Symeon’s Greek Restaurant’s own Symeon Tsoupelis, Jr.; Alex Carbone of the Carbone Auto Group; WKTV Sports Director, Jason Powles; Founder of the Boilermaker Road Race, Earle Reed; Radio Personality, Bill Keeler; KISS FM DJ, Jesse Jordan; Utica College Hockey Head Coach, Gary Heenan; and Dr. Martin Morell. During halftime there will also be an all-star game featuring local high school and college athletes! Raffle items and refreshments will also be available.

Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. To purchase tickets, please call Marc DePerno at (315) 737-2459. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Proceeds benefit the Sitrin STARS program.Created in 2001, STARS provides people with physical disabilities a number of exciting athletic opportunities that enable them to compete throughout the country, and around the world. In addition to basketball, the STARS program includes golf, paddling, curling, and road racing.
