SITRIN GROUP/CEREMONY HIGHLIGHTS LOCAL VETERANS

Sitrin Health Care Center provides opportunities all year long for its veterans to come together and discuss their service to our country. The Sitrin Veterans and Friends Group was formed to bring Sitrin’s veterans together to share stories, watch documentaries, and listen to informational speakers from various veterans’ organizations.

Currently, 38 veterans reside at Sitrin’s long-term care facility; of those, 23 are active in the Sitrin Veterans and Friends Group. Sitrin has veterans from World War II and the Korean War.

The Veterans and Friends Group was created by Susan McVoy-Barnard, the daughter of Bob McVoy, a POW from World War II, who resides at Sitrin’s long-term care facility. The program is part of the services provided by Sitrin’s Recreation Therapy Department.

The next meeting of the Sitrin Veterans and Friends Group is Thursday, November 6, at 4:00 p.m.

Sitrin will also host a Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, at 1:30 p.m.

With Veterans Day right around the corner, these two events provide an excellent opportunity for media coverage of our local servicemen and women.
