UNIQUE EVENT BRINGS PEOPLE OF ALL ABILITIES TOGETHER!
8/15/07 -1st Annual Splash & Dash competition and Great Outdoor Day to be held
August 25 at Sitrin’s Camp on Graffenburg Road, Frankfort
NEW HARTFORD – The Sitrin Foundation is teaming up with Bank of America to sponsor “Great Outdoor Day” on Saturday, August 25th at Sitrin’s Camp, formerly Camp Pioneer, located on Graffenburg Road in the town of Frankfort.
The day begins with a Splash & Dash competition for children of all abilities age 8-15. It includes a swim in the camp’s lake, followed by a cross-country run. This multi-sport event, sanctioned by the USAT (USA Triathlon), will begin at 10am. All participants must be pre-registered by August 18, and the entry fee is $20. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each age group, and each participant will receive lunch, a medal, and free commemorative t-shirt.
Participants of the Splash & Dash event are also welcome to enjoy other festivities associated with Great Outdoor Day, which will begin at 12 noon. Along with a family adventure race, an outdoor expo will allow attendees to view black bear and canine demonstrations, learn about the great outdoors, and engage in a variety of activities, including a fishing derby! Other sponsors of Great Outdoor Day include the Department of Environmental Conservation, Gander Mountain, Kunkel Ambulance Service, Observer-Dispatch, kidsteethonly, and Danella Photographic.
Admission for those who only want to participate in Great Outdoor Day’s family adventure race and outdoor expo is $5 per person or $15 per family. Admission includes food, music, and more! For more information, contact Marc DePerno at (315) 797-3114, ext. 459.
