Now Offering VNG Diagnostic Testing & Rehabilitation for Dizziness and other balance Disorders
The Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center is now offering VNG diagnostic testing and vestibular retraining therapy (VRT) for the community. VNG, or videonystagmography, is a method of recording and analyzing eye movements with video goggles. Since eye movements are closely associated with balance systems, VNG can offer important information about how well the balance system is working. VRT is performed as an alternative form of exercise treatment designed to decrease dizziness, increase balance function, and increase activity levels. At Sitrin, the members our treatment team have been trained at the American Institute of Balance.
Sitrin’s newly installed vestibular/balance program includes a complete diagnostic assessment of the balance and vestibular system to assist a physician in the diagnosis and treatment of dizziness and other balance disorders. Dizziness, or related balance disorders, afflicts up to 40% of the population at some time in their lives. Most of the causes of dizziness can be readily treated once a diagnosis is made. This will be a welcome benefit to the hundreds of people in our area who are affected by the distressing symptoms of vestibular or balance disorders.
This is a new program at Sitrin and appointments are readily available! For more information about VNG/ENG, please call 797-8000.
