Sitrin Timeline

Six decades of making a difference.

 

2009

Sitrin opens nine residential-style long-term care houses with private bedrooms and bathrooms, and the Cedarbrook Enriched Housing and Assisted Living complex, including 44 one- and two-bedroom apartments.

2007

Sitrin implements a summer day camp for children ages 6-14.

2006

Sitrin acquires the former Camp Pioneer located on Graffenburg Road in Frankfort (142 acres). The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc., awarded Sitrin $80,000 to aid in renovations to the property. This grant, from The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc., was made possible by generous donors since 1952.

2005

Sitrin acquires Georgian Court Estates in Utica, and transitions the 30-unit apartment complex to offer independent living for adults age 62 and older.

2003

Sitrin builds a new Child Care Center to accomodate 64 children.

2001

Sitrin implements STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) program, offering individuals with diabilities the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports, including wheelchair road racing, wheelchair curling, wheelchair basketball, adaptive golf, monoskiing, and adaptive paddling.

2000

Sitrin opens off-site dental clinics in Madison and Herkimer Counties, and offers the region's first mobile dental clinic, which was funded by the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, Inc.

1997

Sitrin opens the most comprehensive medical rehabilitation center in the region, and establishes the first licensed Comprehensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Facility (CORF) in the tri-county area of Central New York.

1995

Sitrin Child Care Center opens, serving 24 children.

1991

Sitrin adds residential housing for persons with developmental disabilities.

1974

Sitrin offers the region's first medically affiliated Adult Day Health Care program.

1972

Sitrin Home expands to 111-bed facility.

1951

Sitrin Home opens 6-bed residence for the elderly.
