The Sitrin Expansion Project
Breaking new ground to serve our community.
 Sitrin's new $38 million Expansion Project will bring regional residential care services up to a whole new level. Like our previous initiatives, this project introduces the community to innovative resources not previously available within the local area. This is truly another Sitrin "First" – breaking ground for the next generation of quality long-term care.
Three Components
Currently under construction, the new Sitrin Expansion Project is comprised of three core components:
Component 1 – Residential-Style Homes
A Community of Care
This innovative project represents the leading edge in long term care services. Sitrin's new residential-style homes will offer skilled nursing care in a remarkably home-like environment. Constructed as a neighborhood of individual residences, each of these facilities will be home to a small number of individuals, with comforts, features, and a level of privacy that promote personal dignity and excellent quality of life.

Residential Style Homes For Long Term Care

This unique care community will feature:
- Nine homes (eight will accommodate 12 people, one will accommodate 14)
- Each home includes dining area, living room, and fully equipped kitchen
- Private bedroom and bathroom for each resident
- Gardens and beautifully landscaped yards
- Community center for activities and gatherings
Sitrin is the first health care provider to receive approval from the New York State Department of Health to build residential houses for long-term care. In addition to being a unique resource for area families, this care community will also be a model for skilled nursing care throughout New York State.
Component 2 – Cedarbrook Apartments
Assisted Living in Style
Built in a beautiful, park-like setting, Cedarbrook will offer one- and two-bedroom apartments for enhanced assisted living, with a range of services, activities, and resources that provide for an exceptional residential experience.

Component 3 – Nursing Home Renovation
Growing to meet new challenges
The third component of Sitrin's Expansion Project is a major renovation of two existing nursing home wings. This will encompass a variety of physical enhancements, including a conversion from semi-private to private rooms.
The resulting facility will be designed to provide care services for 46 post-acute rehabilitation and clinically complex patients, as well as individuals with significant impairments, such as ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Parkinson's disease, or similar neuromuscular conditions. Additional private rooms will be available for patients with health problems due to obesity.
The newly-renovated wings will feature:
- Larger private rooms for each patient
- Private bathrooms
- Post acute rehabilitative care, including:
- Physical therapy
- Occupational therapy
- Speech-language pathology
- Audiology
- Care for medically complex patients
