Cedarbrook Opens its Doors to the Community!

After more than a year of construction, Cedarbrook, Sitrin’s new assisted living community, will open its doors to the public! Open houses will be held:

Sitrin Offers Free Adaptive Shooting Clinic

Sitrin’s STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) program is pleased to present its first adaptive shooting clinic on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Sitrin’s Community Center on Sitrin Lane in New Hartford. NRA instructor, Vanessa Warner, Manager for Disabled Shooting Services, will introduce individuals with disabilities to competitive shooting and provide an overview about air rifles. Other topics will include gun safety, equipment, fundamentals, and shooting positions.

Sitrin STARS/Paralympians Participate In U.S. Open International Wheelchair Curling Bonspiel

Eight Sitrin STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) athletes will participate in the third annual U.S. Open International Wheelchair Curling Bonspiel to be held November 20 – 22, at the Utica Curling Club, located on Clark Mills Road in Whitesboro. Four teams from Canada and the United States will be taking part in the international contest. This is one of the last formal competitions for members of Team USA before the 2010 Paralympics, to be held in March in Vancouver, B.C.

Sitrin Opens New Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Unit To The Public!

Construction is now complete, and Sitrin is opening its doors to showcase its new Inpatient Medical Rehabilitation Unit! On Wednesday, November 18, from 2-6 p.m., Sitrin will hold an open house to celebrate the completion of the third and final phase of its $38 million expansion project.

Sitrin STARS/Curling Paralympians Scheduled To Appear On NBC's Today Show!

Please tune into NBC’s Today Show on Wednesday, November 4 to watch three members of the Sitrin STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) Program, who are representing the United States as Team USA at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver, B.C., in March, 2010.

Sharps Disposal Available At Sitrin Health Care Center

Sitrin Health Care Center provides a Sharps Disposal Program, accepting needles, syringes, and lancets from private residences. Sharps may be presented at the red garage, just beyond the Health Care Center on the third Wednesday of every month from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., and 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Tickets Now Available For The 14th Annual Sitrin Harley-Davidson Fundraiser!

Sitrin’s 14th Annual Harley-Davidson fundraiser is now underway! A 2010 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic FLHRC could be yours for just a $10 donation. Only 4,000 tickets will be sold. Get your tickets early, as this fundraiser sells out every year!

Miniature Horses Visit Sitrin Campers

When you think of summer day camp, you often imagine children fishing, making arts and crafts, and hiking. However, on Thursday, August 20, it was “a horse of a different color” as the children of Camp Sitrin got a visit from miniature horses of Triple Creek Farms in West Winfield.

Sitrin Provides Free Hearing Screenings At New Hartford Senior Center

Sitrin is offering free hearing screenings at the New Hartford Adult Dining and Activity Center on Tuesday, August 11 from 9 am until 12 pm. Sitrin Audiologist Dr. Kimberly Keane will be offering appointments to individuals of all ages.

Sitrin Offers New Kid Fit Aquatic Class!

The Sitrin Medical Rehabilitation Center is now offering a new fun-filled aquatic exercise class just for children! Kid Fit is a one-hour aquatic circuit training class, with an emphasis on cardiovascular fitness just for people ages eight to 18.
