Paddle WIth The Sitrin STARS!

NEW HARTFORD -Sitrin is welcoming new participants for its paddling program! The Sitrin STARS (Success Through Adaptive Recreation and Sports) adaptive paddling program offers several outings for individuals with physical disabilities. Family members and caregivers are also invited to participate.
Dates for upcoming events include:
- Saturday, August 20, 2011 – Moose River and Rail (Old Forge)
- Sunday, September 11, 2011 – Black River out of Kayuta Lake (Remsen)
Kayaks, canoes, and other paddling equipment will be provided. Participants should register at least one week prior to the paddling date.
Transportation is not included. Participants must meet Sitrin staff at the paddling locations at 10:00am. New participants must be required to complete a training session on the Friday night before the trip. Snacks and water will be provided, but participants should bring their own lunch.
Created in 2001, STARS provides people with physical disabilities a number of exciting athletic opportunities that enable them to compete throughout the country, and around the world. In addition to paddling, the STARS program includes golf, basketball, curling, and road racing, shooting, and biathlon.
