CARDIAC REHABILITATION

The heart of the matter.

Sitrin Health Care Center offers cardiac rehabilitative services (inpatient and outpatient) for those who have suffered uncomplicated myocardial infarction (MI) or "heart attack."

Treatment is also available for:

  • Congestive heart failure
  • Myocarditis
  • Individuals who use a pacemaker
  • Unstable angina patients

Our goal: better quality of life.

The goals of cardiac rehabilitation are to increase functional activities (able to perform an individuals daily tasks without stress or symptoms) through a graded exercise program and to return to the persons previous work or recreation.

Supervised programs of exercise are beneficial for three reasons:

  • Weight reduction (obesity requires the heart to work harder)
  • Conditioning the heart and other muscles to enable them to handle stress and strain
  • as a demonstration to the patient that certain levels of physical activities can be done safely
