As a key component of its Medical Rehabilitation Center, Sitrin offers the services of a fully qualified staff physiatrist.
The physiatric medical specialty.
Physiatrists are board-certified physicians trained in the medical specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation. They are skilled in diagnosing, treating, and directing a rehabilitation plan to provide the best possible outcome. Physiatrists treat acute and chronic pain, as well as musculoskeletal disorders.
Multidisciplinary care team.
The staff physiatrist at Sitrin directs a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals that includes:
- Physical therapists
- Occupational therapists
- Recreational therapists
- Rehabilitation nurses
- Psychologists
- Social workers
- Speech-language pathologists
…and others.
Sitrin's attending physiatrist is Dr. Cenk Pekis, who has extensive experience in medical rehabilitative care at the acute and post-acute levels.
Also providing care services is Debra Dermedy, MS, ANP-BC. Debra is ANCC Board Certified in Adult Health and Pain Management Nursing. (Debra's collaborating physician is Dr. Nameer Haider.) Debra treats secondary and tertiary conditions of multiple chronic pain issues from Fibromyalgia to Spinal Conditions.
