rheumatology
Advanced therapy for the management of pain.
Sitrin's Medical Rehabilitation Center offers the services of a fully qualified rheumatologist on site.
The specialty of rheumatology.
A rheumatologist is a physician (internist or pediatrician) qualified to diagnose and treat diseases of the bones, joints, and muscles, such as:
- Arthritis
- Fibromyalgia
- Gout
- Lupus
- Osteoporosis
- Tendonitis
Rheumatologists treat these conditions, as well as many other musculoskeletal pain disorders and autoimmune diseases. Sitrin's rheumatology team will work closely with you to identify the problem and design an individualized treatment program.
Recognized authority on Fibromyalgia.
Sitrin's staff rheumatologist, Dr. Martin Morell, is a recognized authority on fibromyalgia and has conducted studies on its treatment. Dr. Morell plays a leading role in Sitrin's Fibromyalgia Pathways program.
When to see a rheumatologist.
If you experience joint, muscle, or bone pain that:
- is severe
- lasts more than a few days
…you should consult your physician.
Rheumatic diseases are not easily identified in the early stages, and rheumatologists are specially trained to do the detective work necessary to pinpoint the causes of swelling and pain. Because these disorders respond best to treatment in the early stages, it is a good idea to seek an early diagnosis.
Health plans accepted.
Sitrin's rheumatology care is available to treat Medicaid and Fidelis patients.
